U.S. Regulator Permits ZTE to Submit More Evidence

4月20日晚间，美国商务部一位高级官员表示，（美国）商务部已经同意中兴通讯向商务部提供更多证据的要求，之前该机构已经禁止美国公司向中兴出售产品。

April 20, the U.S. Commerce Department has granted ZTE Corp's request to submit more evidence after the agency banned American companies from selling to the Chinese technology firm, a senior Commerce official said.

“根据美国机构条例，中兴通讯没有行政上诉权，但商务部同意通过非正式程序从中兴通讯收到相关证据。”这位官员说道。

According to Commerce regulations, there is no appeals process, but the agency has "exercised discretion" to let ZTE present additional evidence through an "informal procedure," the senior official said.

在宣布这一消息的几天前，美国禁止美国公司向中国电信公司中兴通讯出售芯片和其他零部件，这一举动也重新点燃了国内关于技术自给必要性的讨论。

The announcement comes days after the United States banned American firms from selling chips and other components to Chinese telecoms company ZTE Corp for seven years, a move that rekindled discussion in China about the need for self-sufficient tech supply chains.

报告称华为年底退出美国市场，数百美国员工将失业
Huawei set to quit US Market

据外媒报道，美国咨询公司Atherton Research日前发布报告称，华为正计划在今年年底退出美国市场，。华为对此回应称，关于美国市场的发展情况一切以官方消息为主。

Huawei confirmed to Atherton Research that it is planning to exit U.S market by the end of this year. If it is true, hundreds of American workers will lose their jobs. “please use the newest information as the standard.” Huawei responded.    

“我们认为美国已不再是华为全球战略的一部分” 该机构称。

“We now believe that the U.S. market is no longer part of Huawei’s global strategy.” ,they said.
